ChatGPT for Beginners: Learn by Explaining
A simple way to learn ChatGPT: ask, answer, explain, then test yourself the next day.
Start With Retrieval
Before asking for an answer, write what you think is true. The gap between your guess and the response is where learning starts. This forces your brain to activate existing knowledge rather than passively receive new information.
Use Follow-Up Prompts
Ask for examples, counterexamples, and a short quiz. Treat the model as a practice partner, not a shortcut. Try: "Give me three examples of this", "What is a common mistake people make here?", "Quiz me on this in 5 questions."
Close the Loop
